Eligibility

Candidates must have completed one of the following:

1. A 1-year (2-semester) Master’s degree in a relevant discipline after completing a 4-year (8-semester) Bachelor’s degree programme.
2. A 2-year (4-semester) Master’s degree in a relevant discipline after completing a 3-year Bachelor’s degree programme.
3. Any other qualification declared equivalent to a Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body.

Candidates with qualifications from foreign educational institutions must ensure that their degrees are accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency approved or recognized by a statutory authority in their home country.

Minimum Academic Performance

• Candidates must have at least 55% marks in aggregate, or an equivalent grade on the applicable point scale wherever a grading system is followed.
• A relaxation of 5% (or equivalent grade) may be allowed for candidates belonging to:
• SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)
• Differently-abled candidates
• Economically Weaker Section (EWS)
• Other categories as per government regulations

Phd Admission Process

1. Ph.D. Entrance Test

Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be required to appear for the Ph.D. entrance test conducted by MITWPU.

• Exemptions: Candidates who have qualified in UGC-NET, UGC-CSIR NET, GATE (valid score), CEED, GPAT (valid score), or other similar national-level examinations are exempted from the entrance test.
• Qualifying Marks: A minimum of 50% is required to pass the entrance test. A relaxation to 45% is allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Differently-abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and other reserved categories.
• Syllabus: The entrance test is divided equally between Research Methodology (50%) and Subject-specific content (50%).

2. Interview / Viva-Voce

• Candidates who qualify the entrance test will be called for an interview or viva-voce conducted by the university.
• Weightage for Selection:
• Entrance Test: 70%
• Interview/Viva-Voce: 30%
• For candidates who are GATE/NET/JRF/SET/GPAT/CEED qualified, selection will be based entirely on performance in the interview/viva-voce.

3. Admission Offer
